Just opened a Very credit account

hi this is to buy a new vacuum at a very good price. am I right in thinking I can just pay off the full amount of my purchase as soon as i get my statement and that will be the end of that. I didn't actually want or need the credit account but seemed the only option on there? I can cancel this order immediately if there is likely to be a nasty shock like ongoing credit agreement etc. has anyone got an account who can confirm my understanding. thanks

    You can repay immediately.

I would have thought you would get a vacuum cleaner cheaper online rather than using Very (they are known for inflated prices).

they say that you can spread the cost by paying mimimum amount, you may get interest free credit - nothing specifically about this. Just wondered if anyone had an account as because my delivery is tomorrow speed is of the essence.

Pay it off asap (before statement is produced) and you should not have to pay any interest. I do this with Very/next, The interest is disgusting!

thanks for the advice. I got a Miele S2111 vacuum for £69 delivered for me to collect from up the road following a post on HUKD and a £30 voucher off there plus hopefully 6% quidco. I've been looking at all the deals for a few weeks as mine is on its last legs and this is by far the best. by the way how do I pay it off before I receive my statement?

I'd phone up as soon as I'd got the vacuum cleaner (and checked it was OK!) and ask to pay off the account and close it. They'll probably want a written request to close the account but they'll certainly take the payment over the phone plus they'll advise you what else you need to do.

  • I have a very account and there are different ways to pay, take 3 where they spread the cost over 3 payments (4 weekly) no interest,
Buy now pay later, again no interest provided you pay before the payment is due.
And the normal minimum payment, not sure what percent you have to pay off but probably not much so that a lot of interest builds up.
You can pay off what you like when you like, just log into your account or give them a ring,
Personally I think as long as you are careful they can be a good place to shop.

If you ordered online you will have set up an account - you can log back in to your account and pay it off, if it's before the payment is due you won't pay any interest.

What vac was cheaper with Very rather than another online supplier. I have a Very account had it for years but every time I find something I always find it cheaper elsewhere and have never used the account.

edit: Just checked again £600 credit limit and 39.7% APR

it's the one I said in my post above |Miele cylinder vacuum S2111 for £69 for some reason if you look on the vacuum section it doesn't come up but if you put it into the search box it does at £99 but there's a code on HUKD for £30 off which brings it to £69
