    You'd be unlikely to be eligible for a CDL as you don't need to borrow money for course fees, only for living expenses.

    Personally, I think anybody who wanted to borrow money for living expenses whilst studying with the OU would be pretty daft; it would be a high risk, unnecessary strategy.
  • Possibly a £250 computer grant towards the cost of a PC or laptop. Apart from that, Im sure there is no other money available.

    Can you increase your hours at work?

    You may be able to get the course at a reduced fee:confused: I have read that some students can receive financial help towards the cost of childcare, but you may be above the threshold.

    If you are studying courses worth 30 or more points with the open university based on your figures of £18000 and supposing you live in England then you are entitled to -

    From the information you have provided it appears that you could be eligible for the maximum award which would be:

      • Your fees paid up to a value of £765 for courses totalling 30 points or more but less than 90 credit points
      • A course grant of £250 to help with study expenses.
    If you live in Wales again based on your figures and 2 children you would get -

    • Your fees paid up to a value of £590 for courses totalling 30 points or more but less than 90 credit points
    • A course grant of £1000 to help with study expenses.

    However the op doesn't say where she lives, the link you have provided is for England and N Ireland. If she lives in Wales then she may qualify for a higher Study expense grant.

    Better to get the info twice suppose than not at all :o
