Benefit entitlement for parent of work based apprentice

Hi,
My daughter has an interview at our local vets for a work based apprenticeship to become a veterinary nurse, She will be paid around £100 per week. I am a single parent currently earning £320 before tax as a temp. I dont think i will be entitled to tax credits or child benefit any more but can i claim housing/council tax benefit?

Correct, your daughter is no longer classed as a dependent so you will not get child tax credit or child benefit for her.

You may be entitled to council tax/housing benefit if you have sufficiently low income and there will be a modest deduction for the now non-dependent.

You could also ask her for rent!? I have told all my kids I want 25% of what they earn that way it is fair and on a sliding scale.
