This is what annoys me too about the JC I used to work for them although wasn't an adviser. Some are great and will understand circs when I signed on a few years ago my adviser was lovely and understood my problems with transport.

My one now will send me to apply for jobs without knowing if they really match my jsag which states 'subject to public transport' he matched me to a job 20 miles away without knowing the hours etc when I applied they contacted me telling me the hours are 8am -6pm I cannot get to the city earlier than 835am.

You need to do all you can to prove you can't get there, I will be providing my adviser with my bus timetable too.

To be honest he only had the hump because every time he pulled a job up I'd either already investigated the location or applied for it (I search a wide area) so he forced one on me, ironically I found out the one he forced on me is over 90mins travel just to the bus station in the city.

I'm seeing him again Thursday and if I am made to feel bullied again I will be making a complaint because he caused me a great deal of worry about how to handle the situation.

    thanks for your reply.
ive been doing a lot of thinking lately, and have been thinking is this hell where we are now, because of all the suffering and pain.
and we might go to a better place when were dead.

Your rock bottom at the min waiting for someone or something to knock you further. I was so low after my daughter died and thought so many times was no point and i just wanted to be with her. I went to see doctor and i can not fault them one bit, I had to go every 3 days at 1st too see how i was and also so i could talk about my feeling till counselling came though.

Honestly i wouldn't be here with 2 children now who i worship if it not been for the doctors, But plz be totally honest how your feeling when you go hold nothing back. You made the 1st step telling us how your feeling on here well done:)

Please take all the offer of help they offer even if you don't think its for you try it, I never though counselling would help me but i was so suprised. I really hope the doctor ,listerns and supports you.

You CAN get though this, few years time you can look back and say i did it:)

Plz let us know how you get on at the doctors and huge ((hugs)) so brave to put how your feeling down xx

Blimey David - just happened across your post. Sounds bad mate but tomorrow might look so different. There will be people who will be there for you - as you see from this forum. The medical stuff sounds bad but... treatable.

These longs nights don't help much either - they could make anyone feel glum - get the help you need mate. Meanwhile, David, keep talking.. Any plus's you feel you could share with us. Maybe some scope for new starts for you - it's always hard to see things straight when you're on a downer. Just listen to Robisere - what a trooper.

Keep talking mate - you've got people who want to help here.

    Hi David

I can't advise re the job centre. But if you are feeling this low, then please call the Samaritans who you can talk to in confidence. They can listen and offer advice and support. Going to your GP is also a very good idea - take the advice that they give you.

I can also recommend the Debt Free Wannabe board. Even if you're not in debt, they can give you some good support to help you not get into debt whilst things are tough work wise and financially.

And if you're feeling low and just need to chat online, the Marriages and Relationships board is probably a better place for you than this board, as people are around to chat (this board tends to focus very strongly on work).

All the best to you. :)

    LOL! :D
This was exactly the reason I believe it happened to me too. She kept pulling up jobs that I'd already applied for either that week, or in previous weeks (and had copies of paperwork with me to prove it) and seemed to be getting pretty annoyed about it. Pretty much bullied me into agreeing to having this one printed off 'on the understanding that I would investigate the transport situation fully to see if there was any way I could get to it and apply if there was' - her words. I was a bit naive at the time, not having used benefits for over 20 years, and didn't realise that once that sucker gets printed off, you have to apply no matter what the advisor said (lied?) at the time. Soon found out tho - I was terrified I would end up having to apply, get it, get the sack for being late on the first shift and then be told that I had made myself intentionally unemployed, lose home etc...

Stuff like that always seems to happen to me - dunno how these apochryphal people who live on benefits for years supposedly get away with it ;) I refused to believe anything a benefit officer told me after that unless they were prepared to put it in writing..... never were :D

I received a conditional job offer last week, just waiting for reference checks etc - if all goes ok I can finally end over a year of being constantly terrified that I will accidentally do something wrong again & lose JSA/HB etc.
Don’t try to keep up with the Jones’s. They are broke!
