RBS PPI Claims Help Please

Hi there

I was wondering if you may help me.

I have been trying to get my head round all the PPI info but I am still struggling slightly with it all.

I have has a RBS Mastercard since 1999 and upon checking my online banking I am still paying for a PPI I do not recall agreeing to (or needing at the time when I took the Mastercard out) would my next step be to get a copy of the contract from RBS?

I also had a RBS loan from 2002 to 2007, should I request information on this too?

Also is it worth my getting the SAR or with the dates of 1999 and 2002 mean there will be no paperwork?

Thanks in advance as I am rather confused by it all.

I wrote a letter of complaint and headed the letter with the reference no of loan and card number.

No point at present of SAR (I have been waiting for mine since November 2011 )

When I had my reply back from RBS they claimed they had no record of my loan as it was back to 1999 but they paid me back my PPI plus interest anyway , however they are very slow in paying it !

Give them 8 or so weeks to reply before chasing it up but the wait
is standard now I believe and send letters signed recorded .

  • Thanks for the reply.

I don't have a reference number for the loan, I assume I need them to give me the details of this?

    Thanks

    You dont need it.

You make your complaint giving your reasons why and include any evidence or proof to support your complaint reasons.

I've put in my claim with RBS today by ringing the PPI Claims Line 0800 015 0319. You give them your current account sort code and account number and they look it up. The guy told me I have had 3 loans - all with PPI - and I have put in a claim over the phone.

My husband did the same last week and one of his colleagues did it a couple of months ago and has already got her cheque!

    Good Luck!
