Yes indeed I have seen one of these in action, cheap nasty rubbish and not worth £10 let alone £100 . Still as Lovesharingbargains said, someone may well find it to good a bargain to resist.0

Looks nice, looks like a dvd player with speakers, is that what it is?
What in your experience was so bad about it geezerboy? if it is as I think, can I seperate the speakers to go on my living room tv and take the dvd upstairs? we'd like extra speakers downstairs but we also would like a dvd in our room, it looks like it might fix both issues.
Presume you have one - can you say what exactly was wrong with it please? I know it can be so subjective, if you're use to a state of the art player I guess another may look a little feeble. How would it be for a cinema sound system beginner do you think?"There is no substitute for time."
Competition wins:
2013. Three bottles of oxygen! And a family ticket to intech science centre. 2011. The Lake District Cheese Co Cow and bunny pop up play tent, cheese voucher, beach ball and cuddly toy cow and bunny and a £20 ToysRus voucher!0 -
According to the latest which magazine, most supermarket type retailers own electricals are poor (including M&S), many making the coveted Don't Buy award. However, I haven't seen this reviewed. although, for £30, what can you expect.0

Hi, if you read the blurp it says 6w speaker !!! - if you want decent home cinema sound you should be looking for about 100w RMS per channel.
As gezzerboy states ....it's a pile of junk.0 -
With a 6w power output you would have to turn it right up to be audible, but by the time you do this you lose all your clarity and the sound is very poor0

The 20w subwoofer won't wake the neighbours but will add a little oomph to many films. Ebuyer for example has some comparable systems with user reviews at http://www.ebuyer.com/store/Peripherals/cat/Speakers/subcat/5.1-Surround-Sound-Speakers (mostly without the DVD thrown in).
Gezzaboy, OK it's a poor system in global terms but at 50W RMS total would you really have to "turn it right up to be audible"? Really??? Really????? For a budget conscious family or a lone XBox/PS3 user it would surely still be an huge improvement on the average LCD/LED TV or monitor sound for a reasonably small cost.0 -
some wandering around the houses suggest's it's this... or something very similiar...
