Advice please

Options
On Saturday I bought a couple of items both new but one without packaging. The item without packaging but is a blu ray player (showroom model). This morning I had a call to say they had given me the model up from the one I bought can I please return it for a swap.

Basically what are my rights on this? Sadly I left a jacket there so have to go back anyway.. This was bought in good faith and is the one they gave me. Amazingly they said they would give me a shriek blu-ray for my inconvenience but frankly Shrek is rubbish and quite unwanted...

Advice much appreciated..

-CL.

Legally, I should imagine that they've not really got much of a case. Morally however... you're taking advantage of an honest mistake. You were happy with the lower spec model that you thought you were getting so why not take it back and get some blu-rays too? Just ask for something other than Shrek! And make sure the value of the blu-ray(s) is equivalent to the difference in price between the two models. ;)
