Will I run out of time?/

Hi
I am convinced I was missold PPI but I really think I need to see my loan agreements before I send in a complaint.
All my debts were settled late February 2006, almost 6 years ago.
If I write a letter enc a £10 cheque requesting my loan agreement & all other info they have on me, I see they can take up to 40 days to send this info to me.
So if I get the info from them 40 days from now, that will be early March, then if I spot I was missold PPI, am I still able to lodge a claim or not given the loan accounts would at that time have been just over 6 years old?
Everyone is telling me just to go ahead and lodge a complaint now but I don't know what grounds to complain on as I don't have my agreements.
A forum member did help and say I should state that the PPI was frontloaded, put on to the loan at the start of the term and charged interest the entire duration of the term......is it that simple...can I just compalin saying this?
I just want to make sure I do it right and what isn't helping me is the confusion over how long I have to lodge a complaint.
As I said above, all these loans were paid off late Feb 2006, which is almost 6 years ago, and I get the feeling that if I don't lodge a complaint by the time the 6 years is up then I'll lose my opportunity.
That's making me feel that maybe I should just go to one of them companies that reclaim on my behalf.
What do you think guys? Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
Thanks

Im claiming for a TSB loan payed off in 2002 so I would say yes, it all depends on the bank how long they keep the details i guess each one is different0

Do not use a company, they only get you to find the info you need and get you to fill the FOS questionnaire in,they post it and bingo, you owe them a hefty whack.
people have won mis sell for loans from the 90s on this site,me included, and i only claimed mis sell 2 years ago when i saw Martin Lewis on Breakfast tv.
Ring the banks and ask if they have the info on you,if you have internet banking, look at your DD list, the loan number and payment will be there.
If you did not pay a monthly payment seperate from the loan payment for ppi, then the ppi was frontloaded, this is in effect another loan with interest to term end, this is a reason for mis sell.0 -

Hi and thank you for the reply.
Should I just send a letter of complaint advising that the ppi was front loaded (which it was) and leave out my medical ailment?
Put it this way, if that's all I write on the letter of complaint, will they look into it?
Thanks0 -

Put about your medical ailment too.
Have you found any details out yet, regarding account numbers or did you telephone the banks?.0 -

I've got all the account numbers but unfortunately not the actual agreements.
Im worried I may not have declared my illness at the time, then again I may not even have been asked...it was so long ago I really cannot remember.
The majority of these loans were done online so I can't recall being asked about previous ailments and i am worried if I mention it on my complaint letter they might say...oh....here's your application from 8 years ago and you clicked no medical conditions! You liar!!!!
However, if that was the case and they did pull that rabbit from the hat......can they ignore my other complaint about it being front loaded?
I never thought this would be so difficult.......I done my divorce myself last year without a solicitor....but this...bloody hell, this is stressing me out more than doing the divorce forms ha ha ha!
It's just knowing what to say on the letter that's doing my head in. I've only got one shot at it and don't want to mess it up! Ive looked through loads of previous posts to see if I could find examples of letters wrote by successful claimants but can't find any.

You only need the account numbers.
All you have to put is
"i believe i was mis sold payment protection on the above account number/s because...and put the reason.
It was put on at the start of the loan with interest to term end.
Did you have sick pay when you were off work?,did you have life insurance? put these.
Get it sent off,if you did a divorce this is easy!!!!.0
