Not sure where to start

Hi,

I am not sure how to go about claiming PPI. i have followed the instructions on RBS website but when I have came here it doesnt look like its that simple.

I dont know if I have ever paid PPI(excep credit card) as my accounts are now closed so not sure how to go about it.

my first loan was done over the internet in 2006 with my bank - not sure if PPI was mentioned or just added

my second loan was in 2007 in the branch and i know PPI was not discussed but not sure if it was included in my loan

and applied for a credit card in 2007 once i had received the card i receveid a phone call stating that this had to be taken out as part of having a credit card.but i was suppose this is just my side of it.

not sure how to prove i was missold it if i am not sure it was in my loans. any help on what to do would be great. i have filled out the PPI consumer questionaire on the RBS website but i take it if i send it in they will just reject this?

thanks

Nicola

    Hi

I would start by checking the information on the link below........as there are many reasons, if you think any of them apply to you then give it a go.
The bank/business should be able to confirm if you were sold PPI if you contact them, or call in at your branch.

So, what you do is complete a Reclaim questionnaire, send to the business address of whoever set up and sold you the account.
Remember to keep a copy as well - because if you wanted to make a complaint to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), if they reject your complaint by the final decision, you can send them the copy of what you sent the business.

Make sure you get proof for posting, and you should receive an acknowledgement in the post within a week or to to confirm delivery of your complaint.
They should let you know when they expect to give you a decision, this can be anytime from 8 to 12 weeks, the norm is 8 weeks, but you may still hear a decision before that.

    Hope that helps, good luck.
