Can anyone suggest me what are the points that need to be taken care off while selecting insurance for vehicle?

? what points to be taken care of ?

You get the right cover at the right price? Except these days the right cover is probably 4x more than what you think is the right price.

Not checking the policy details until its too late is a big issue it seems, Especially if you used a comparison site that may not transfer the correct details over.

Your excess maybe higher than you think, Your cover maybe less or items you think you declared dont get passed on.

Leaving you with a large bill or a cancelled policy, Which increases premiums even more.

Failing to declare stuff gets detected a lot more often these days.

I assume your on about insurer's own (confidential) group ratings.
Yes, though they are not all "confidential" - whilst not openly listed as per the ABI codes if you ask the call centre agent which group your car falls in (or at least they have told me before)

The official ABI Thatcham advisory groups are purely based on the cost of repair based on replacement parts costs and labour time.

And performance (acceleration and top speed), security, list price.

Sorry yeah, those two. Point was it is there to represent cost of replacement/repair (first party physical hazards) not moral hazards or third party costs.
