reclaim request from halifax

Hi I think I originally posted this in the wrong section but I was asking for advice regarding a letter we had from the halifax in oct 2010 asking us to resubmit a claim for sickness that was originally declined back in 2003. They said they are reviewing such claims, we sent forms straight back to them, but I am wondering has anyone else had this letter from halifax and are they likely to pay up?? Also is this the same as a PPI claim??

It doesn't sound like a PPI claim - you are not being offered your PPI back but being told that the PPI may pay out the benefits it should have done.

Yes,it does look as if you put a claim in on the ppi and were refused, they are now going to pay you this.
If the ppi was less than the claim, you will get nothing,if it was more, you will get the surplus back to you.

Do you know how much the ppi was and how much you could have claimed?.
  • Thanks for the replies, no I don't know how much the PPI was for but it was husband who was off sick for two months, not sure what they could pay and therefore should I keep persuing it if I don't a desicion soon??
