someone via amazon auctions has just tried to scam me out of my phone.
i listed it at starting bid £50 and buy it now £90 and £7 p+p to ship to uk only
they bought it for £200 and p+p £80 to ship to nigeria
so i relisted my phone and emailed them to say no payment was rcieved and i wasnt sending to nigeria + i was relisting.
it werent til today that i looked back and realised it was a scam
the email was wrong and a few things in the email was dodgy. they said amazon was holding my payment until i dispatched and to email the tracking number
i phoned amazon and they confirmed it. i forwarded the email to them and they are dealing with it now.
please beware all amazon emails come from ___________@amazon.___
not from ______@europe.com or anything else

Everytime I sell a mobile on ebay some nut from nigeria
puts in a bid for £1000 plus and emails me some very bad fake Paypal payment emails!
I email them back and say I will pop round with it, so i wont be posting!!
hee hee!

I know someone who actually fell for it
- it was the ebay/Paypal version. I think (/hope!) I wouldn't have fallen for it but I can see how someone new to selling could be tricked. So thanks for helping make sure everyone's aware!

i stoped using amazon because of this exact reason
when these rats bid you have to relist the item this incurres a listing fee although they will refund you this its only after you email them explaning whats happend amazons reply to me last week was that i should "have a sense of humor and these things happen all the time" lol
aint that funny when your getting abuse from some rat over in nigeria via email telling me my mums going to be killed within the next week !!!
much as i dont listen to a word of it still isint very nice0 -
Ive had that before, from ebay and amazon - i just delete them.0

Thanks Logan.
We can never be reminded enough about these scams.
They must work occasionally or the perpetrators would not continue trying.0 -
I had one of these too, when i listed a digital camera on amazon. The guy kept emailing me saying i would get money through "western union money transfer" as soon as i had despatched.
Yeah Right! The spelling was pitiful.
