Wire through house wall - sealant

Hi All,

Hope someone can answer this. What is the sealant the cable/tv companies use when they put a wire through your wall (as i want some)

Its clear and doesnt go hard - stays rubbery.

Also - anyone know where to buy it?

Its just a translucent silicone sealent. A window frame sealent will be fine, any diy shop will sell them.

Usually just silicon sealant. Any diy place will sell it.

You can buy covers to put over the cable, but not really required. Just remember to leave a loop at the bottom to let rain water drop off. You can drill from inside at a slight angle too. You can seal it in stages, or in one go. I like brown silicone on the outside to blend in with the brickwork.
