Monday 23rd January - What small DFW things will you be doing today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money: '
Gooood morning...another week is here;)
Hope you all had a great weekend - busy busy here, back home and back to normal now though...and only 3 weeks til half term:beer:
Here's my list for today:
Have a great day:A
DNMS - good luck with the new job (if today is the day!) - you'll be fab:T:T:T

MORNING! Eek it is today Pixie - am nervous! But your lovely message made me smile, thanks for being so lovely :A
Poodlegal am jelly that you are going for a run, I just can't find any motivation from anywhere
Stitchy sounds worrying - is there anyway you could look to increase your income if there's nothing left to cut back on? How is the business coming along? Take on more work? Go back to you boss and ask to work every other wednesday? I know you don't enjoy it but if you need the extra money? Look out for/apply for positions that pay more? I know you've said in your area there aren't a lot of jobs being offered but how about sending out your cv & a covering letter to places you'd like to work? Stay strong
Today:
* check banking x2
* quick shower
* leave the house tidy - I don't start till 10 today :j and in future I will need to leave between 8.30-8.45 depending on whether I am walking or driving (OMG the joys of no longer needing to get up at 6 and leave at 7.20:T:D)
* get oh to stop at Tesco on his way home as they have 2kg of red lentils on offer at 1/2 price for £1.99 :T
* brekkie & lunch from stores
* have voucher for Zizzis for free tapas and a glass of wine - we're going to try to stick to this(try not to be swayed by the hard sell!
* will just have beans on toast or something when we get home
* do 2nd coat of the bathroom :T
* Mrs Flylady our bedroom & "hallway" (its about 2.5ft by a metre! :rotfl:)
* go to the gym
ok think that's my lot. Excited and nervous about being the new girl all at once! Have a great day y'all xDF as at 30/12/16

Good day, everyone!
Have been a bit MIA due to internet issues last week. Had a crazy weekend - we went out on friday night, got home round 4, and an hour later my roommate came to wake us as she had awful shivers and fainting spells! Was quite scary and we rushed her to hospital. She was fine but I spent most of the day in my pajamas + bike jacket waiting for her tests back - i must have looked a fright! Had a BBQ on Saturday night at a friends place and spent yesterday in a cafe catching up on work. Feel like I need another weekend already!
Good luck on your first day, DNMS!
Sorry to hear things are going to stretch, Stitchy.
Sorry if I've missed developments, but how are you doing these days, Zigs?
Anyway, today in MSE:- check banking and update budget after much neglect
- bike to work (with colleague on back, shes a brave one!)
- work like a maniac as loads on
- breakfast at home, coffee and lunch provided by work
- bike into town after work for meeting on new business with potential partner - will just have a drink instead of eating out
- leftover curry (HM yesterday by flatmate) for tea
- read for a bit tonight or watch film for quiet night in
Hope everyone makes it through monday - feel like it might be close!Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010

Hey NTBY! Just looking at your sig and see you are doing swimmingly with your quest to raise a deposit! Have you thought about going the whole hog and saving enough to buy outright? If you look on my diary (shameless marketing here!) there is a link to a person's thread who did just this. Its my current inspiration xDF as at 30/12/16

Hi all
Thanks for starting us off Pixie. Best of luck with the new job DNMS. Keep on going Stitchy..sounds hard but am sure you can do it..are you selling much? PM me if you do as I may be able to rustle up some sales for you. Good to see you back NTBY.
Today is a no work, well only work a bit day as I realise have no printer ( cartridge with the refill shop) so will need to boot up work computer and make notes for doing whilst on commute tomorrow:mad: anyway will treat it like fly lady and give myself a time limit I think. It's my fault for being disorganised:o
I have a friend coming round for coffee. No cafes for us! HM biscuits too...:T should be lovely. Will light stove whilst she is here with her LO rather than switch heating on too.
I will also try a bit of fly lady after lunch. Haven't done that for a while and it's a good discipline!
Think it will be a NSD for me, but unfortunately doesnt count as OH has an agreed spend but that's it. Will also downscale our veg box, fruit, milk etc this week so we spend less. Still have some stuff left over from last week.
Made a PAD to BC- rounding down to the nearest fiver in my account, set up an OP to mortgage when I get paid (the same amount as was putting into a savings account £100, so have cancelled that, it'll do more good in the mortgage account I figure)
Will work some more on meal planner..have rather enjoyed it. DDs also enjoyed contributing to it with their ideas. leek and potato soup is fine..but toad in the hole every day :rotfl: I think not!!
One watcher on car. Hmm.. Will have to think what to do soon if it doesn't shift as we have no need for it any more.
Cheers all

Wouldn't that be amazing! To be honest I'm not sure that I'll ever buy at all - my lifestyle is pretty mobile (who knows what it will be like in a few years) and the idea of having all my savings in one asset seems a bit scary. It may just become a nest egg, but is a nice motivating target for now.
I guess a lot will depend as well on whether I end up settling down with someone or not - in the meantime so as long as me, my dog and my motorbike are dry and fed I dont feel that I need to accumulate more assets :rotfl:
Will definitely check out your dairy though, heres me not knowing you had one at all!Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010
