Hi-wondered if anyone has any ideas on this?
Just fitted a new Ceramic Hob,was putting shopping away and dropped a tin on it-cracked one of the corners, one of those cracks with lots of tiny cracks around it.
Its not that big (about the size of a postage stamp )but of course really spoils it as it is in an island in the middle of the kitchen.(Hubby says thank goodness he didn't do it!!)
Someone suggested buying metal or rubber corner protectors to cover it but I haven't seen them anywhere......any ideas anyone?

Just fitted - you fitted it and it hasn't been used?
Good - did it come out of the box like that?

Hi Sheilds
I'm sorry to say nothing can be done with the glass other than to replace it. You will probably also find the cost to repair the hob would be the same as to replace.
Hopefully you will have accidental damage cover on your house insurance as this will be covered.
Good luck

In the meanwhile - do not use the hob. Expanding glass can use further shattering and could present an electrical shock risk. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
