Online conveyancing?

I would agree with kwte and do not use Fidler & Pepper. The had our survey for 30 days with us chasing it and them saying they were looking into it, only to decide when we phoned them that it wasnt actually their job & we shoud have sent it to the estate agent.
Communication is very poor as well. This has not improved even though we have escalated the situation. AVOID!!!0 -

Why have they said it should be with EA?
If it's anything like our survey, it has a section called something like 'information for conveyancers' and has been used quite a bit to aid in composing the (3 sides of) questions to vendors solicitors.
Having said that, we're using a local sols firm so we can see them face to face if needed, and used by my family for various things for as long as I can remember. Not the cheapest but seem to be doing a thorough job so far.0 -
Arbrighton - i am not sure why they said check with the estate agent as now the estate agent is trying to tell us we don't need these things and that he has given us the info or it does not exist in order to get the sale through. It would be so much easier if the conveyancer did it as they have more clout and know exactly what to ask for. It is turning into a nightmare0

There was a thread here recently about someone losing their ID (passport, bank statements, etc) when they sent them to a remote conveyancer, and the conveyancer sent them back to the wrong person......
I'd always deal with someone on my High Street, where I can take my ID in, they copy it, I walk out with it again.....0 -
But why would the survey, which you commissioned, and is for your information be sent to the EA, who acts for your vendor to deal with? The conveyancers should be acting in your interests.
Could you explain what the issues are that aren't being dealt with0 -

I've used them before and it was *okay* because I've been through the process many times, I dragged them to completion because I knew what I should expect and what I wasn't getting. I have never done it again and went straight back to the good firm of high street solicitors that we had been using with success and have reaped the benefit of that when things have gone awry a few times since then.
I have found that you need to drag everyone and anyone through the process anyway! The perils of being impatient and organised!0
