New Look store card... GE Capital then HSBC... where do I write to?

I took out a New Look store card in June 2005 until 2008. For the first three statements I was charged "account cover", which I'm assuming is PPI. The bank name on the statements was GE Capital, and about a year later it changed to HSBC. My question is, who do I write to about claiming back my charges? I've seen on here people talking about Santander taking over GE Capital, but that doesn't apply to me because I closed the account in 2008 when it was still with HSBC. So who do I write to? Thanks!

I understand that Santander will still deal with your complaint, unless someone else clarifies otherwise, or send to both Santander and HSBC, see what they come back with.

Another way to find out is to contact the FOS just as a general query over phone as they may know straight off, just tell them you do not know who to pursue in your complaint because of changes of takeovers.
