Hi
My Dad has the above laptop and has lost his internet connection - I know it is purely just that he has somehow turned off his wifi, so laptop isn't picking up any broadband connections.
Laptop doesn't have a button to turn on Wifi, but I think its one of the Function keys (plus another maybe).
Can anyone tell me how to turn on his wifi signal again please?
Many thanks

If its faulty i found this context:
Your model can have one of two wireless cards. You need to know if you have an Intel ProWireless wireless card or a LAN-Express AS IEEE 802.11 Wireless LAN. Look at your specifications or in Device Manager -> Network Adapters.
When you know which, install the correct driver from the Original Drivers download for the VGN-N11S. installed - here:-
http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/preinstalled/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VGN-N11S_W
You must then install the Wireless Switch Setting Utility and the Wireless LAN starter fron the Original Utilities download for the VGN-N11S using the same link as above.
In addition to the physical switch on the front of your Vaio you must have the software switch installed also and running at startup - this is the Wireless Switch Setting Utility.Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.0 -
According to the user manual ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/pub/manuals/Notebooks/NR31J_ER_MR_NR32_38/NR31J_ER_MR_NR32_38_H_EN.pdf
there is a switch on the front of the laptop on the right hand side that enables/disables Wifi.0 -

Bizarr! No of those buttons on the front. Initially, thats what I was looking for as my laptop has them.
Still none the wiser at the moment :-(0 -
try re-enabling it from inside windows? go to network connections find wi-fi adaptor right click and enable?0
