Replacement conservatory

We have a conservatory on the rear of our house,tagged on to the rear of the kitchen, its of very poor build quality, and when we moved in 5 years back it was on the list to replace,but in the present financial climate i am thinking again. The UPVC windows are ok,it has a slightly pitched felt covered roof, finished off with plasterboard, biggest problem is the brickwork walls are all single brick,and in very cold weather we get slight mould patches dotted on it in parts,there are two radiators fitted,one in kitchen and one on conservatory. It being built direct on to the the kitchen and all open plan,condensation is a problem,this has been 90% sorted by the purchase of a dehumidifier. I had planned to stud out the single skin walls,insulate with fiberglass and cover with a vapour barrier and plasterboard to stop the mould problem, but i am being told this will not work, and could cause more problems. I am advised to put a door and wall between the conservatory and the kitchen,but this is not an option. I would like a proper extension,but have had rough quotes of £15000 and upwards from builders,which i cannot afford. As a ballpark figure how much would i expect to be paying for a lean to type conservatory,approx,12ft x 7ft, with a glass type roof,one single door,and one of the 7ft side walls full height, as if we had it in windows all we would look out on is our neighhbours wall, the rest would be dwarf walls, i was hoping to get away with a max £9000, as i would install the radiators and my brother in law the electrics. Any advice is more than appreciated

£9000 will be plenty I would say between £6000 and £8000 should do it.
You could also have the windows on the neighbours side and put obscure glass there to match all the way round might be a bit cheaper as well

Thanks for that, at least i am somewhere near the price, i'm going to phone up for three quotes this week, will look at small local firm, and a couple of the big boys, Everest have just done some windows near me and come recomended from the house owners. will wait and see what prices i get now.

I have a similar issue, want to replace old plastic roof with new glass one. I did a bit of research type refurbish my conservatory in google, this company seem to specialise in replacement roofs / conservatories.

Dont even think about Everest, they will be double everyone else.

To be honest, I would leave the big boys alone.

Go for 3 local ish ones, ask for references and go and see them, speak to the people who have the conservatories.

Totally agree the big companys will start off at silly prices give you a discount and still end up at silly prices.
