Sink waste

I'm looking to do up my bathroom but the armitage shanks white toilet and sink seem fine except I hate the gold taps & flush handle. I know I can change these but what about the gold centre waste and plug chain holder in the sink? Sorry if this sounds petty but last time I replaced AS in the ensuite my plumber said I was replacing with much poorer quality, I didn't care then as it was a coloured suite I hated. Current toilet and sink are probably as old as the house, 20 years, but look like new.

Assuming it's a standard size they're readily available:

I am doing the same - I really hate the gold taps in my cloakroom so they have got to go. Found some nice Bristan chrome taps and a waste and plug to match. Not sure if I need an unslotted or slotted waste. My basin has an overflow hole. I am also looking for a chrome toilet handle which is proving more difficult. Does anyone know if it's possible to identify my existing toilet - it's Armitage Shanks and I have found 1743 under the cistern lid. Don't know where to start to look. Thanks.0

I am not sure why you think that there might be a problem replacing the sink waste. You just make sure that you replace it with a chromed brass fitting and the job's done. It is usually easier to do than replacing the taps.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
