video to youtube help

hello

I need to put a video on youtube.

it is a avi file, approx 45 minutes long. It needs to be edited, will be approx 25 minutes after editing.

Can anyone tell me a program that I can edit then convert to the best file format for the quickest upload to youtube ?

I did this years ago but cannot remember now the program I used but would like to do it all in one program so for example if mpeg is best format can I edit avi then save as mpeg in one program then upload through youtube?

thanks

Anytime you upload to YouTube they convert the video to low bitrate Flash which is a poor quality format. My suggestion is to use 640x480p for SD and 1280x720p for HD. I have had good results with WMV9(VC-1) but I get better results using MOV(MPEG-4).
Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.
  • Something else to check: there used to be a 10 minute time limit on video uploads for new account holders on YouTube. Is that not still the case?
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.

Yeah i use Sony Vegas Pro, I have the full version you may find a trial version on their site here.
