iTunes and my Meastro card

Hi all

I've come across a bit of an oddity and couldn't find anything on Google so I'm hoping someone has a solution.

I've installed iTunes now I have an iPhone 4S but it's decided it doesn't want to know.
I wanted to download a couple of apps (65p each) and put in the details from my Maestro card.

Now here's the odd bit.
My bank account has been debited with several lots of £1.58 which correspond to the number of times I've tried to enter my card details. Why £1.58 when the apps are 65p I don't know.

I've been on to the bank and they say no problems at their end, the transactions have gone through.
I've been on to Apple and gone through various bits with them as well, still no joy.
I'll be making sure that I get all my money back from these "ghost" transactions, but I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a problem with buying apps from the iStore with a Maestro card?

iTunes definitely has the Maestro symbol as a valid method of payment, but each time I enter my card details (either through iTunes or on the Apple web site), I get the error that says "cannot process your request at this time".

Anyone any ideas?

Il be honest with you i had a massive dig over Google too like you did and couldn't find much. However alot of options and forums have mentioned that it could be Apples end and just busy servers if its just happening randomly now.

I see time will solve this issue as i believe its not an on going occurrence and its just happened now?

There aren't any apps that are 65p, so I'm not sure where you are buying things from.
There aren't any that are £1.58 either.
The two cheapest price tiers (excluding free) are 69p and £1.49.
Are you sure you are using the UK App Store?

Apologies folks, the apps were 69p.
Still not sure where the £1.58 came from that's on my bank account.

It looks like it couldbe Apple's end as my OH is now having problems with a card that was working perfectly well.
I'll keep an eye on it and see what's what.
