1Meg/second download... 2 gigs per month download limit.
Let's just say you can only download at 1/10th of your stated download speed... so that's 100k/second. You could use up your 'monthly allowance' in less than 6 hours. 2 gigs.... not even half a DVD... what use is that?
I'll stick with Telewest who's 1MB speed really is much much more than twice as fast as ADSL's 512k... not that it exists anymore as Telewest have just bumped all 1MB customers up to 4MB for free. 4MB with no download limits for £19.99 per month. I'm not a salesperson for them... honest! Actually, the only thing I'd recommend from Telewest is broadband. I don't care what package they offer as I get Sky TV. They have far better customer services for blind users and the best bit is they have loads of programmes (especially the soaps like Holby City, The Bill, Emmerdale, Eastenders, Coronation Street, Home & Away etc) that have audio description! My husband isn't even blind and he loves it as it lets him know what's going on whilst he's reading the paper or using the computer so he doesn't have to look at the screen.

This includes Top Shop, Burtons etc.You do have to buy an item from the shop and you only get paid £10, no matter how much you spend! More for fun than for profit!
I've just signed up with a company called Grass Roots, who are currently recruiting for mystery shoppers and I've already received my first assignment (v.exciting!).
https://www.grgresearch.com
They've been in business for around 25 years and have assignments all over the country for a host of different retail outlets, including pubs, restaurants, fashion chains and banks.

I done this with TNS but whilst fun the renumeration was awful for the time taken, gave it up !, are these others worthwhile ?0

Well, I'm not sure what the average renumeration is for mystery shopping but I got paid £15 to stay in a Travel Lodge (family room) and they paid for an evening meal and my breakfast.
I'm doing another assignement this week, shopping at Bhs and getting paid £20 for one visit.
Does this sound good or do other companies pay better?0 -
Hi
I have saved a fortune on telephone calls with 18866 and 1899 services combined with an Orchid dialer.
I also use Skype to chat over the internet with some relatives - a fantastic service! download free here - http://www.skype.com/download/
Regular use of https://www.fixtureferrets.co.uk to find the current best offers at the supermarkets.
Gradual change over to energy saving lightbulbs.
Always getting a range of quotes for insurance - I always save money that way.
Switching the mortgage has helped us reduced our mortgage, switched twice now over 4 years. Set to move again in Spring next year to the next best deal, I have used London and Country to find me the best deals and also kept an eye on the best buy tables.
I bought a Smart car! fun and more efficient, cheaper to insure and tax than my previous car (a Rover) - literally saving over half of running a larger car.
Stopped eating in the resturants at work and now take sandwiches and that alone saves around £80 a month easily if not more.
Ditched my gym membership and now walk and cycle more.
Some of these adjustments are because of necessity, I am sole earner at the moment as my wife has decided to give up work to bring up our young family. The savings we make help us carry on with a half decent standard of living.

Really needed to get some boots for Winter so had a good trawl around the shops. Picked up Italian made boots, top quality, very comfortable for nearly half the original price, reason being that one of the laces was frayed. Picked up a pair for £2. Original price of boots £79.99, due to fault reduced to £45, laces £2. Total saving of £32.99.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. Hi, been a member of smartmaniacs forum for a while, only as an observer though... looks good! I can say honestly that it is the best car I have ever had - I love it. I will be doing mods on it in the near future

So far in 2005, I have saved a fortune on calls by using 18866. My monthly bill is now about £3.50.
I am forever checking for non-geographical number alternatives and saving even more.
Just today, I have received £50 into my new Alliance & Leicester for switching. My wife, who recommended me (!) has received another £50 as well.
I have paid zero interest on my credit card this year by switching, and have cut my overall debt by £5,500 since May. I should be clear by about April '06.
Thanks MoneySavers!0
