IE Script Error Message

Have recently kept getting the following types of Error Message when trying to access various internet pages:-
An error has occurred in the script on this page.
Line: 142
Char: 207
Error: 'null' is null or not an object
Code: 0
Url: http:// (yahoo email page)
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page
Line: 1
Char: 7
Error: Invalid character
Code: 0
Url: http:/pix.bit.1y/r/invitemedia
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page
It seems to happen a lot on the Daily mail web site, yahoo email & various other web sites.
Am running Windows XP & IE 8
Any advice would be really welcome.

Is your XP up to date? Ie Service pack 3.
Have you tried resetting IE via Internet Options?0 -

Already has Service Pack 3
Checked Internet Options & there are 2 options on the Advanced Tab
Restore Advanced settings
or
Reset - only use if IE is unstable?
Which should I use?0 -
Try the above solution first. Then go to reset IE - it won't hurt to give it a reboot.0

Disable Script Debugging suggests ok if just on one or two web sites, unfortunately this seems to be on quite a few others. So not sure whether to go ahead & disable it?0

Okay, then try resetting IE8 first and see if that cures the problem.0

Why not just use a different browser?0
