Household storage costs

Hi!
How much should Household storage cost?

I've got two sons both of whom are between homes and could use somewhere to store household contents.

One is in Stockport and has been quoted £10 per week for a 10 foot by 10 foot room from two different places

The other is in Basildon and we haven't sorted out any quotes for him yet.

If he has been quoted £10 per week, then its going to cost him £10 a week.

Wht not rent a garage? Certainlt less than £10/week and much larger.

storing household goods in a garage, will certainly ruin nearly everything.
far better to find a relative/friend with an empty room to rent. or borrow free.

A quick look online suggest garages up here are going at £20 or so a week and I would have concerns over security and dampness.

There are a number of storage firms in the Stockport let alone South Manchester and I've spoken to a couple of the biggest. Part of the reason for the question is am I wasting my time working my way through the yellow pages! :-)

If relatives / friends had any spare rooms in Basildon then son number one would be living there and son number 2 is moving home taking our spare room and we've pretty much run out of space! :-)
