Wet underfloor heating - E10 or not?

Hello all,

Can anybody tell me if there is evidence to say if a wet underfloor heating system should or should not be used on an Economy 10 tariff?

Most of the suppliers seem to say yes but other people say its more efficient if its on all the time as its just ticking over which sounds like sense to me. If its on E10 its going off 3 times a day and when coming back on its having to work harder to get back up to temp.
Some people have said its like a kettle, you only boil it when you want the want hot water so why would you have it on all the time? But with heating you are wanting a constant level of heat so you would want it on all the time.

Any thoughts or even better facts??

  • Ufh starts heating the moment it is turned on, albeit with a lag in terms of warming the room. It is therefore not suitable for off peak heating if it is the primary heatsource for the room.
