AIMS reclaim of PPI

I am not sure if anyone out there has used "AIMS" to reclaim any PPI from LloydsTsb bank.
One member of my family started a claim with them for a couple of loans from the above bank.
Firstly, AIMS asked for £250 to start the claim. After a long time and after numerous phone calls and e.mails, we managed to get their website address and password. "YES YOU GUESSED IT, THE PASSWORD DID NOT WORK!!!". Again after numerous phone calls and over time, we got another password and "YES!!" again it did not work. By this time at least 4 months had gone by.
Eventually, we recieved a letter from LloydsTsb saying that they were going to send £2500 and if the family member was happy to go ahead and claim this amount, then do nothing.
"NOW COMES THE CRUNCH"", another letter from"AIMS", which was a bill, stated that they wanted 25% + vat @ 20%, so if you work this out it comes to around £750 and please do not forget the £250 at the begining. A nice little total of £1000.
Now I do not know if this payment is good/bad/indifferent and I will stand by the majority.
However it is my opinion, that I or any of my family will never use "AIMS" again. If anyone thinks that this is a good amount to pay for a claim please do not hesitate to leave a reply here.

Their name has appeared on the board a number of times.
As much as I dislike claims companies, that should not come as a surprise. The fee is agreed in advance. If you employ a company to do a job and you know the costs in advance then you cant complain about them later billing you exactly what they said they would."NOW COMES THE CRUNCH"", another letter from"AIMS", which was a bill, stated that they wanted 25% + vat @ 20%, so if you work this out it comes to around £750 and please do not forget the £250 at the begining. It is a ridiculous amount to pay for putting a stamp on an envelope. However, your family member chose to do it.
In this occasion, I cannot see anything that has been done wrong other than the family member is now getting greedy. Although it is greed that claims companies work on to get people to use their service.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
