E: 22/1 Aviva Car Insurance -£80.80 cashback

Browsing around for my car insurance I noticed Aviva were offering £80.80 cash back via TopCashBack.

The offer ends today and is applicable to any new policy taken out online. I've found them to be quite price competitive (saving £2000 on my renewal price!)

  • Still with Aviva but via Quidco, if you're a new customer £50 cash back plus 15 weeks worth of free car insurance also expires today
  • I took out a policy last week when the cashback was £72 so no complaints. However, be aware that the 15 weeks free insurance is not tagged on to the end of you years policy i.e. an extra three months. Its a discount already built in to the quote they give you so that you are only paying for 37 weeks in the year and not 52. So if you were paying for the whole year then their premiums would be quite high. Maybe everybody knew this but I didn't and assumed I was getting 52 week plus 15 weeks.

No wonder they can afford the cashback - my current comprehensive car insurance (with Citroen Insurance, 5 year no claim bonus) is £550, and AVIVA just quoted me online £1860. :rotfl:

Bare in mind cashback is only a very small part of someone insurance now so before you go with them get other quotes. Cashback rarely gets paid quickly. Last 3 years I have had insurance from building, car and it can take over 6 months easily. I currently waiting since September for car insurance with tcb and its on hold, no sign of any payment date
  • I got car insurance with e-car insurance last year, took me 6 months to get my £60 cashback and I had to raise a query as it failed to pay at first. Remember not to rely on cashback as it isn't 100% guaranteed.

  • I am with Aviva but my policy is up in 3 weeks .... had my renewal notice of £328 .....however I have gone through quidco as a new customer with Aviva with the exact same details and they have sent me a quote for £384 ...... does anyone have any reasoning behind the £56 difference...... Thanks

I was with Aviva/NU for years as they were always the cheapest but now they want like £1900 for fully comp for me and I live in an area with no crime at all it's probably one of the safest places to live and they still quote crazy money, I pay £500 to DL instead and I resent that....

Time to buy a new car I think lol
