As Geoffky said, the steering wheel will be adjustable by the driver. Sit in the drivers seat and feel under the wheel on the steering column for a small lever that you can use to 'unlock' the mechanism. Move the wheel to the new position and then 're-lock' the wheel in position by returning the lever to the same place as it was before.

NO WAY did the dealership take the wheel off and put it back in a different position.

Also, the engine noise could well be due to the water pump having failed. This gets fixed, the noise goes away.
To be honest, it sounds to me like the main issue you have is the car is underpowered. They will probably allow you to change this under the Network Q 30 Day Exchange if it really is a Network Q car.

Ha ha i laughed out loud when i saw your post - YES WAY lol they really did - now the wheel has been lowered but i still cant see the petrol gage or indicators lol who would have thought not seeing your indicators flash would be an issue lol I nearly had a heart attack on the road when i couldnt see them. - The car has censor indicators too like if you touch it it flashes three times and will automatically switch itself off again so i freak out when indicating wondering have i held it down long enough to keep them on or have they turned off again lol then im bending my head to the side to check meanwhile other road users are going mental lol

Thank you for the quote from Network Q thats excellent - Im not a person who moans and complains about things but im a twit when it comes to cars -

Yes your right the water pump wasnt helping with the noise and i trully believe the car is under powered - I tried to come off a hill onto a busy main road , you know when you have to move fast before you lose your chance to get out , well the car was struggling to get out lol so i was half way in the busy road and traffice beeping either side of me telling me to move lol it was awful but i couldnt get it to go any faster it was like driving a big bus

    Thank you

I can't help but think that this is either a wind up, or the OP is unbelievably neurotic!

I had to search the first page here to find the car - I knew what it was from the description, pressing control + v and searching for corsa proved me correct.

The 1 litres are horrifically underpowered, and if you do a few motorway miles, I wouldnt even consider this car.

To the poster that said the wtaer pump failing was not a major fault is mistaken. I cant remember if it applies to the corsa, but some pumps run off the cambelt, if the pump ceases and stops turning, then the cambelt stops and the engine is goosed.

While I agree that not being able to see indicators / petrol gauges is hardly a reason for rejecting the car, the water pump and wheel alignments are legitimate reasons to reject the car - these faults should have been spotted by any competent mechanic.
No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

I had a 1.4 Corsa and hated it. It was such a heavy car and really heavy on petrol too. My steering wheel had a lever underneath that you used to move the wheel. Don't all cars have that now ? I think the garage told the OP they'd moved the wheel to wind her up !

I now have a Toyota Aygo, it's brilliant, apart from when it's windy ! It nearly takes off !

op - i went to test drive a new santa fe about 7 years ago 23k we went no more than a mile from the garage and back i asked if the wife could have a drive salesman said he didnt really have time we went in the office to talk fiqures and i phoned another hyundi garage told them i had 23k burning a whole in my pocket and explained what had just happened we had a good hour being shown the vehicle and both had a proper test drive in it i brought it there and then the next day i phoned the first garage up and told him i was going to buy it off him but as he could only give me 5 minutes of his time i thought why should i let him get the bonus/commission he was gutted.

push for the garage to take car back as a good will gesture at no loss to yourself on condition you get another off them and keep your fingers crossed they say yes but remember a bigger engine costs more in fuel and insurance
  • Yeah the Corsa is awful, I use one for work. There is no way that I can see to adjust the steering or seat. Additionally you cannot see the speedo between 50-90 without taking your eyes of the road and crouching down to see.

Terrible car and dangerous for people of our:mad: height.
