Hmmm - trying to cut back - do i really need to pay line rental and VAT for a land line i hardly use but necessary on occassion

Can anyone advise on the tesco internet phone using the internet phone adapter £50 approx to buy

Is this a good move???

If you are in a Vigin Media cabled area, you can dump your landline completely and just retain cable broadband for your internet and VoIP telephony.

If you are not, you need to keep a BT landline in order to get ADSL broadband.

There have been a number of others threads about Tesco VoIP in the past 2 years.

Thanks Heinz - no-one I know has it therefore had no second opinion - didn't know about the previous enquiries as this was my first time here - thought it would be the best place to ask - Gonna go for it now (I do have virgin media cable) Thanks for everything - you're a star

If you have cable broadband you might want to go another route other than Tesco VoIP as Tesco are one of the dearer providers.

There are other ATAs for under £50 and then you can use a cheaper than tesco provider, even Sipgate are cheaper than Tesco.
