Ovo cut prices 7 days after I renewed-What to do?
Hi All,
I renewed Ovo on 29th December on their "New Fixed Energy" deal as I am more than happy with their service and the savings I'd have made by going elsewhere are minimal.
However, I have discovered that they cut the price of this tariff only 6 working days later.
Do I go back to Ovo and ask to be put on the cheaper deal? If I ask them really nicely and explain how disappointed I am do you think they'd change it? (I assume that the cooling off period doesn't apply when you re-sign a utility contract?)
To be perfectly honest I'm more than happy with Ovo and they have been fabulous, but I'm a tight wad and if I can save a couple of quid here or there I will do!
(Before anyone mentions it I know it's a fixed contract but the change took place after only 6 working days)

They might or they might not.
If they had increased the price only 6 working days after you signed up..... would you be wanting to phone up and offer to pay the extra?0 -

LOL! What do you think?
Only reason for asking is that a lot of shops will refund the difference on stuff if they reduce the prices, wondered if energy suppliers would do the same.0 -
Might drop 'em a cheeky email if I get time but I'm happy with Ovo so have no desire to change supplier.0

You have nothing to lose by asking-but at what point do they say the reduction will still be applied-6 days after, 7 days, 14 days, 28 days? They'll always be someone who misses out.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Yeah, I understand that. I suppose I'm just a bit miffed that they didn't mention the prices were dropping.
If they had, I would have delayed the start of the new contract by 6 days!0 -
The call centre staff would not have had a clue that the price was going to drop, they would have found out along with the rest of us.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
