Have been looking at this onehttp://www.ebuyer.com/271781-home-tek-ht838-steam-mop-ht838. Says it can be used on laminate.

Steam mops reviewed in this months Which. Magazine is usually available in library.

Model above is one of their top 4 best buys

pros - shifts stains confidently, comfortable easy to use

cons - filling water tank a little fiddly, doesn't lock upright ( need to lean against something when storing)

hi, i recently bought the vax 2 floor steam mop from amazon at cost of £39.99, it is excellent, saves so much time and means i clean the kitchen floor much more frequently than have in the past, which with 2 cats is a definate good thing, i think the price has gone back up again now but would recommend it - in fact work colleague has bought 1 form my ravings.

Bought the same one a couple of weeks again when it was on Hotukdeals for £39.99 at Amazon - and it's fab! The entire downstairs of our house is laminate, lino and Karndene flooring and this works brilliantly on it! It doesn't wet it too much (much less than a mop) and I tend to only use the steam function in a few places so as not to damage the flooring.
I read lots of reviews which says it can be used on all types of laminate and I cannot recommend it enough - just done the entire downstairs of the house in under 15 minutes.
  • Anyone got this one, it seems to have excellent reviews on asda's site.

  • Hi

Sexybabe1982, you mentioned using it on karndean, does this not soften the adhesive underneath. I would love to try one of these but am concerned as the whole of the downstairs is karndean.

It would be great to hear from somebody with experience of using these regularly without any problems.

    Many Thanks

    xx

I've only used it a couple of times on my Karndean, as most of mine downstairs in covered in it also, and I've had no problems so far. Looked at lots of reviewed on different sites and there seems to be no problems with using it on laminate flooring.

I just make sure that I only use the steam feature a couple of times. As long as the flooring is sealed it should be ok.

Noted now gone back up to just over £50. Keep an eye on it though as it has been flucturating, I was going to buy over a week ago and by the time I made up my mind it had gone back up to full price. Hope everyone got one at the great price, mine has been despatched so should be here tomorrow. Boy do I need it with my very old Cat weeing everywhere :-0

Has anyone got or can recommend a steam cleaner for my bathroom wall tiles? The grout (or whatever it is) looks discoloured & no matter what I use or how hard I scrub, I can't get it looking pristine.

    Thanks in advance

I have just bought the cleaning solution 'HG Mould Remover' from Lakeland to clean my grout on the tiles and it is brilliant. Just spray on, leave 30 minutes and rinse off!!

Would definately recommend it, after trying numerous other cleaning solutions that made no difference whatsoever.
  • Thanks Damo, i'll try that then
