Is that you Son? if so, less of the 'old Ma' or I'll be over to smack your legs.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Doesn't look that great to me.
It's maybe a 5 year old ex-corporate refurb with some extra memory added?
Don't get me wrong - it will do what she wants just fine, but in terms of value - I've been given similar spec base units (Ok, sans hard disk and with less memory) for nothing on Freegle.0 -

Thanks for that. I know it's an upgraded pc in an old shell. But can you build an equivalent pc yourself for the same price?0 -
I remember your last thread - I thought you were going to build one! There was loads of advice too on building one as cheap as possible.0

I appreciate your interest. So could I self-build a pc with the same spec for that price?0 -
As Fwor said - this is an older P4 machine with 4 GB DDR (or DDR2) RAM. Perfectly useable and will do the job. The sales pitch makes it sounds as if you have to chain it to the table!!
If you join Freecycle or Freegle and gather a few old P4 machines then you can dismantle them, buy a new case (max £20) and build it with the good bits from the freebie machines and that will be your cheapest way out. This is how I started off and the experience gained was invaluable.0 -

Nice one, Steve. Thank you. That answers my question. I'll stick with Plan A - the self-build.0 -
It is not 2x 3.0 GHz, but otherwise it should be fine for surfing, mails, etc.
Note that it says that it is a tower, but the picture looks like a SFF desktop.
Windows XP is now old, but the machine would run Windows 7.
Price-wise I would say that it's worth under £100.0
