Having tried about 4 Freeview boxes so far, why on earth do the manufacturers make them so annoyingly difficult to use? I'm in I.T., so I can eventually figure the thing out, but I wonder how a pensioner is ever going to be able to use Freeview when the analogue switch-off happens?
Why can they not just take a leaf out of Sky's book and make a *simple*, easy-to-use programme guide?

I remember reading somewhere that sky's epg was patented to Gemstar. Anyone who uses it has to pay royalties
and if it's possible to patent the format then then it must be difficult for manufacturers to come up with something that is unique0 -
i've alsways found freeview's programme guide to be better than skys! You can look at a description of any forthcoming programme that day on any channel whilst still watching your chosen programme. Sky's guide takes you away from what you are watching0
