both my sky+ remote control and my remote for my 15 yr old tv have both packed up today. i tjink i may have spilt something on them but not sure. anyhow argos are doing one those one for all remotes for £14.99 that says besides working on all your tv needs it also comes pre-programmed for easy set up. has anyone used one of these and more importantly do they work? i know i can return them if not satisfied but getting theree quite an ordeal so dont want to make the trip if they are no good, thanks

I've used one without problems, but if they still have a similar range of products, it depends on how common a make/model your TV is. I found that obscure makes (for example Logik) may not be in their database of codes.
If you have a well-known make of TV it will probably be fine.0 -

The restricted viewing angle of LCD screens is probably their biggest drawback.
Plasma screens are a bit better in that respect, but I doubt you'll find one small enough.
If you're determined to stick with having it on top of the wardrobe, you might end up scouring markets for old CRTs when your current one dies.I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.0 -
ds1 brought the one for all and soon as batteries were put in it worked immediaterly so no need for tuning in or anything which was great. only problem was that we couldnt find out how to adjust the volume and while trying the rest of the thing packed in completely and had to take it back to store and get a new one. this one worked immediately too but am too scared now to try and alter the volume. has anyone else had this problem?
also as for tv had a feeling i was going to have to buy an old one without all the fancy stuff but thanks for advice0 -
Did the Sky + remote work the tv ok? They are around £15 to £20 from supermarkets.
You should be able to get a replacement tv for free, they are always being offered on our Freecycle. People cant give them away, even fairly recent models.0 -
