Housewife or Office Administrator?

I've just been playing around with my car insurance quote and if I stay as a Housewife the premiums are cheaper than if I pick Office Assistant. I will be starting an office admin job next month but its only 2 days a week and I'll be a housewife the rest of the time so 5 days a week. Would be it acceptable to leave the setting as housewife as that is the 'job' I'll be mainly doing if you see what I mean?

In addition the car is insured for personal, business and commuting anyway (this is the default setting and was on this when I was just a plain old housewife anyway).

Thank you

:)

Sadly no, even though you only work 2 days a week, you will be classed as 'commuting' to work in that car 2 days a week, which increases the risk (even though you were covered for commuting, business etc. on your policy when listed as a housewife anyway) State the truth about your occupation as they would check into that in the event of a claim of any kind and if you don't disclose, you will invalidate your policy and you don't want that. Only way to get the good discount being a housewife brings, is to be a full-time housewife.

Thanks I see what you're saying. I'll ring them up when I've got a start date :-)

It may be cheaper to pay the higher price up front rather than change it later when there will be an amendment fee.
They are not going to complain about you declaring yourself to be higher risk and paying more for a few weeks.

Ahh, really? I didn't know about the amendment fee. Thanks for the heads up!
