Help with RAM upgrade

I want to buy some more RAM for my PC. It is an Aspire T180, it currently has 1GB as it came from the factory. I have 2 free memory slots (4 in total) and 2x 512mb at present.
Can someone recommend some memory and post links such as ebuyer etc as I am unsure between the different types such as DDR2 and DDR3.
Many thanks. Jim.

May not be the cheapest , but never had a problem. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Get yourself over to Crucial and use their memory advisor tool
http://www.crucial.com/
That'll tell you exactly what you need. Then you can buy from the cheapest available supplier.I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.0 -

Thanks for the crucial tool. It recommends "2GB kit (1GBx2), 240-pin DIMM, DDR2 PC2-6400 memory module" for £25.19.
If I go to Ebuyer can I get this- (£8.68 each)

And just buy two of them- will it be the right stuff?0 -
Yes, should be fine. That is ~probably~ CL6 memory.
You might get slightly better performance by spending a bit more on CL5 rated, but I doubt you would actually notice the difference.0
