I have laid laminate to my sitting room floor but all the family are feeling it is very slippy and cold so are having to consider carpet so as I am on a small budget what kind should I get and can I lay it straight over the laminate as this is on cold floorboards as there is an 8 foot void under this room?

We have laminate floors and we bought carpet squares from this firm.

I would never go back to carpet, we put a large rug in the lounge as it seemed so empty at first. We went from full fitted carpets to hard floors and it did seem cold and echoey at first but we now wear slippers or thick socks in winter.0
