I think that perhaps he was building his feedback up to do a scam like this and would only incur 1 or 2 negs which wouldn't have damaged his feedback rating much!

Does anyone else agree that he doesn't sound like he is english!

Glad you didn't go ahead!! icon7.gif

ok here's the next one he's sent me when i asked for a "step-by-step guide"

    "
    dear sir

you have told me that you dont want to send the money on my name and adress....because i can pick up the money.

so....i want a safe transaction for both

1.You will send the money thru Western Union on your partner name, city London

2.After i will see that you have made the payment on your partner name,to can check if you have money i will start the shipping

3.After you will receive the pack you must to change the receiver name intro my name and adress,to can pick up the money

in this way i can pick up the money only after you will have the pack in your hands"

now everyone have a think about what i should say and i'll check back tonight and write a reply ;)

Ask him if you can pay directly in cash when you collect the item to save messing around changing names etc ... even safer for you both that way :D

    hi stavrosicon12.gif

Does this person have your address? you have to be very careful! even if he doesn't! don't push it too far cos he could bid on one of your items and get your address that way!

Otherwise can you print off some dodgey money ....eg some with "The Simpsons" faces on etc... arrange to send him cash recorded?? that could be funny!

    Hi Fellow MSE's,

From what i can see, this is nothing but a scam to get their mits on your hard earned yen.

You could send the money in the name of George W Bush (american president for anybody who doesnt know) and they can still get their grubby mits on on it.

Dont be fooled by puting somebody elses name on it. It will not work, i would imagine if he was genuine he would allow collection or accept other types of payment.

Check the information on Western union website regarding fraud transactions.

Personally to protect yourself, i would cease all communications with him. As previously stated he could obtain your contact details through ebay and cause you trouble that way.

Then again he could bid on your items, never pay you and then leave you a negative destroying your feedback.
