Transferring photos from iphone 4s to pc

Forgive the village idiot question but how do i transfer photos taken on my iPhone to a folder on the PC to clear a bit of space? I have 6.5gigs worth to clear out!!! Thanks in advance.....

When you attach your device to the computer close itunes again, and im assuming your using windows 7 or vista.

A pop up autoplay window usually comes up asking what you'd like to do.
You should select open device to view files.
Then select internat storage and then DCIM

But if it doesn't appear select
Start button >Computer
Under portable devices select apple iphone and repeat the above steps.

you can then copy and paste the photos where ever you want
