escape of water, soaked carpets

Have any of you had curtains and effects dried out by a drying company appointed by the insurance company, I have had a substantial leak which has absolutely soaked a lounge and contents and electricals, the carpet was brand new, it has been like this three days now. I am worried that they will not be able to restore to the original condition.

Years ago when I was on holiday a major leak occured in my home flooding the entire downstairs & seeping through to the maisonette underneath mine.

The insurance company arranged for a company to dry out both mine & my neighbours contents & looking at the carpets & upholstery afterwards, you'd never have believed that they had been under about 3-4 ins of water for days before the downstairs neighbour raised the alarm.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
