Boiler Servicing: Need, and Best Deals?

Hi folks,
We have a 4-year old Glow-worm boiler.
For good or for bad we've never had it serviced.
Corgi Home Plan dot co dot uk have written to us offering a combined service and insurance for around £200 a year.
Firstly, how necessary is it to service a "young" boiler? (My guess is "necessary")
Secondly, are there any better deals for a combined insurance and service contract?
TIA

£200 sounds high.
Some boilers are more expensive than others.
The manufacturer's price is obviously a good benchmark.

If it's not been serviced in 4 years, that has presumably invalidated whatever warranty you originally had.
Just get a local independent GSR RGI to do an annual service, and put the savings in the bank for a rainy day.
A service is typically around £75.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
We have a service agreement with BG and cover unlimited callouts, electrics and plumbing and it costa £30 a month. The boiler is 10 years old and have had the cover for about 4 years. In that time the boiler has gone wrong about 4 times and would have been expensive if we had not had cover.0

But you've paid out £1,440 in 4 years-that would have paid for a new boiler!
4 service calls would not necessarily have cost that much, depending on what was required. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
