Scrapping a car

Hi
Sadly I have to scrap my car after the cam belt snapped. I had only just had new brake pads put in and it has a full tank of petrol! Any suggestions on scrap dealers that give a better price and are fair and easy to deal with?
Thanks

Before scrapping, sell as many parts and components as possible on Ebay.0

Contact a licensed dismantler, one who is a member of a recognised trade body. Ask what they'll give you. You'd be surprised, as they salvage parts, not strip them out and dump them like scrap dealers.0

I second the strip and sell parts bit. And remote the catalytic converter and either sell or scrap separate. Look on ebay at what the cars are going for, may be worth putting it on for spare or repair. You'll get more than scrap and then they have to move it instead of you.0

Is it def a scrappy job? How much damage was done, as this can vary with the engine speed at the time of the snap. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

I just sold two for scrap through cartakeback.com.
Worth getting a quote from them.0
