Unidentified searches in google toolbar

Hi, I hope someone can help.
I have the google toolbar installed on my internet for convenience when mainly for when i need to search for something and for the autofill option.

The search box displays the previous 23 searches i have made, but recently I have noticed some odd searches in the search box that I have definitely not made, and no-one in my household has made.
It's ranged from my email address, my name/surname with the letters "dv" at the end, or random letters like "pljuytm9"

I'm abit worried about this, as I'm imagining someone having access to my account somehow, and maybe they can see what i'm doing. emails/shopping passwords. etc.

Is this something i can stop/prevent, do I need to change my passwords for everything?

  • Hi.
Can anybody offer me advice on this, as it happens each time i come onto the computer, and i don't knw if its an issue with my computer or an external person having access to my computer.
I'm thinking it's someone external, as it's my email being put into the search engine, but i would really like some advice on what to do.
    Thanks.

it's more likely to be internal.

if you are worried about infections, do a full scan with malwarebytes, post a hijackthis log, instructions are here

Can you trust them to be telling the truth? How many people have access to the PC? Could it be an inquisitive partner/spouse googling them to see what comes up & won't admit that they've been rumbled?

As I understand it, most of the suggestions offered are those which other people using the Google search engine have made...

Rather like Amazon's "Other people who bought product X have also bought products Y and Z".
