Hi hoping someone can help.
I bought an item from Play which was broken when it arrived. I contacted their customer services who told me to send the item back getting a receipt for the postage which I did. (I have this instruction on e-mail).
When I went to the Post Office it was going to cost me about £8 to send the item special delivery and I had no guarantee that I would get this money back. The item only cost £20 so it was enough to spend £4.50 on postage and I complied with their instructions by getting a receipt.
They are now saying that they have no record of receiving the item and keep asking for a tracking number. They dont seem to understand that unless I had sent the item Special Delivery or Recorded Delivery I wont have a tracking number.
Where do I stand. OK I cant prove that they have received the goods but I can prove that I have followed their instructions and sent the goods back with a receipt for postage as they requested.
They are really annoying me because they keep sending these pointless e-mails asking for a tracking number or suggesting that I need to wait several weeks. I have even e-mailed them a copy of the postage receipt. I get the feeling that they think I will just give up and go away.
Any thoughts anyone?

when did you send it back? Not plays fault you didn't use tracked service.
Standard parcel taks 3-5 days i believe. Try sending them the postage receipt u got at the post office that will have there post code etc on it.0 -
Don't send the Certificate of Posting to Play.
Wait and see if the goods turn up at Play.
After 15 days, report the parcel missing to Royal Mail.
Claim the value of your parcel, plus the postage, from RM.0 -
