Hi all
Just after a bit of advice really.
I recently purchased some greetings cards off an ebay seller. They were listed as new.
They didnt arrive so i contacted the seller who very kindly re sent me some more cards. I received them very promptly BUT they arent in great condition. They sent them in a mailing bag and they are all warped and look like they have at some point got slightly damp.
This was a job lot of 54 cards but i wont be using quite a few of them as just too tatty.
I contacted the seller who appologised that they had run out of boxes so sent them in a mail bag.
Now.....what should i do? Should they offer me some money back or should i raise a dispute? I really dont want to offend the seller but just dont know what is the best action to take without cause offence or get into a big debate.
Any help is most appreciated.....what would you do?

Always give the seller a chance first. I point out the problem and ask the seller to advise of the way forward. If they ask me to return them - i usually ask if there is a partial refund option instead - to save return postage. Sometimes the offers are quite generous. If they do make an offer - and your happy - accept it and leave good feedback. If not - file a claim.
Some on here would prefer you to go running straight away to ebay/paypal - but that should be a last resort. After all - you can't lose - and sellers will usually do the right thing - given a chance.0 -
You must use some really good sellers because the ones I come across when a problem occurs get defensive and very rarely "Do the right thing".Always give the seller a chance first. I sent a message to one seller recently to tell her that the package she sent me was great, I loved all the items but I just wanted to let her know that one of the items arrived squashed. I said that I was very happy with the items and was only letting her know for future reference so she might package them differently. I didnt want or expect any kind of compensation.
The message I got back was downright disgusting.
Its a common occurance with sellers. They seem to assume that all buyers are scammers.
Oh, and how many times have I heard a seller say "What do you expect for 99p?" What kind of attitude is that to have?0 -

How many times have you complained about a 99p item? Sounds a regular occurance. I just tell myself you get what you pay for - and put them in the bin.
You assume all sellers are rude - they assume your all scammers. I treat everyone as i find them
In 12 years of ebaying - i have rarely had a bad seller - but many bad buyers. One let me keep a stereo i paid £50 for - as one of the tape decks had a broken button.
No matter what your experience - you should always be reasonable with the seller, or buyer, unless they give you some reason not to. Too many people just open claims or leave a negative - without contact first. It spoils ebay for the genuine folk.0
