Thank you for your advice about the balance transfer to Halifax card following their revised letter about not transferring my original request.

I called them today and spoke to a "very nice man" called John. I explained my "concerns" and said I was troubled as I REALLY wanted to clear my Barclaycard and have only one CC since I had never had more than one on the go, and expressed how disappointed I was that the decision to transfer the full 4k from Bcard had been changed. After a few security questions, he said he'd see what he could do and came back saying there was no reason NOT to do the full transfer as they had set my limit at 7.5k so 4k was well within the transfer ratio! Bless! :-)

So, I have transferred the lot to a 22 month interest free deal and already set the payments to cover that(including the fee) and pay within that period.
