Evening all! Quick update before the weekend... Got a refund for a faulty coat today (too right!) which meant I could pay £500 off the AMEX. Very happy!
Did yet another incredible Aldi shop earlier. £14 for a full week! Ok, ok, it is a cheap 'freezer meat' week, but still - result! Cracked open one of the many bottles of wine I have at home last night so looks like it's going to be a cheap weekend. Heading over to some friends' for dinner tomorrow but should be a v.cheap night. All good.
Bad stuff. Car. Again... Technically it 'needs' some work doing which will cost around £250. I could risk it (the car really isn't worth much), but if it goes pop I'll have to buy a whole new car. Seems like a false economy to hold-off on the repair... but I might delay it for another month to save a bit extra and keep my fingers crossed that the belts don't snap. Wish me luck...
Hope everyone is well. Keeping the diary is proving to be such a great help for me. I'm very grateful that people are taking the time to read it.AIM: Debt free by [STRIKE]Dec13[/STRIKE]/Apr14TOTAL: Jan12 [STRIKE]£30,000[/STRIKE]/£13,300 Mar13[STRIKE]AMEX[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£2,500[/STRIKE] Bank [STRIKE]£12,000[/STRIKE]/£8,500 Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,000[/STRIKE]/£4,800 [STRIKE]Parents[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£8,500[/STRIKE]0 -
Just dropping by to wish you loads of luck !
I'm loving the name Decadent Debtor, that could have been me in a past life ! Now its plain old Pinot, happily sipping wine from A£di, battling a long and bumpy journey, but with loads of very supportive MSE members joining along the way.
So.... if you don't mind I will subscribe and join you along the way.....well until 2013 that is. I will be here for a little longer !! By the way I love updating my signature too, it can become quite addictive.......oops did you say that you have an obsessive personality
Hope you enjoy your vino this evening and have a good weekend.

Thanks Pinot. Out of interest, are you the Noir kind or the Grigio kind? :-) I'm a couple of glasses in and having a lovely evening! I've also heard lots of good things about Aldi wine. Really looking forward to trying it out once I run down my current stocks. Any recommendations?
I will subscribe to you too. You're doing really well! 10k down in 4 months. Boom! Well done!AIM: Debt free by [STRIKE]Dec13[/STRIKE]/Apr14TOTAL: Jan12 [STRIKE]£30,000[/STRIKE]/£13,300 Mar13[STRIKE]AMEX[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£2,500[/STRIKE] Bank [STRIKE]£12,000[/STRIKE]/£8,500 Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,000[/STRIKE]/£4,800 [STRIKE]Parents[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£8,500[/STRIKE]0 -
Pinot - you can see I'm on several glasses. Had I read your full Sunday name I would have seen that its all about the Grigio for you. Personally, I'm a Noir man, but I won't hold it against you! :-)AIM: Debt free by [STRIKE]Dec13[/STRIKE]/Apr14TOTAL: Jan12 [STRIKE]£30,000[/STRIKE]/£13,300 Mar13[STRIKE]AMEX[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£2,500[/STRIKE] Bank [STRIKE]£12,000[/STRIKE]/£8,500 Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,000[/STRIKE]/£4,800 [STRIKE]Parents[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£8,500[/STRIKE]0

Well funnily enough Mr Dec I'm not that fussy these days :rotfl: Given a choice Grigio I suppose would be the preference.
Savour those lovely bottles of wine, do you have enough to last until your DFD then you need never try A£di , wouldn't that be lovely?:D
You may find my diary just goes on and on and on................ Feel free to give up after page 1 and resume on the last page! :rotfl:LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

£14 for a week? Teach me your secrets, oh Guru!
I need to start thinking about setting up a decent budget for next months groceries - I don't want to starve but I don't want to splurge either! Any suggestions? Also I know it sounds disgusting, but Sainsbury's Own brand wine is actually quite drinkable... The rose is a little sweet but quite tasty.

Thanks Minii! Not sure about being a guru, but I definitely seem to be able to survive on a small food budget! I do have to say that I am pretty strict/mental when it comes to food. I stick to a food regime that matches my gym work so unfortunately no chocolate, no crisps, low carbs etc.
My top tip however would be that the freezer is your friend. I buy loads of frozen fish fillets and frozen veg packs from Aldi etc then when I get back home from work or the gym I can whack the oven on up to 200 and 20mins later I've got a nice healthy dinner waiting for me. Definitely take advantage of the super 6 cheap fruit/veg too. Better for snacking on than the usual junk. Wishing you luck!AIM: Debt free by [STRIKE]Dec13[/STRIKE]/Apr14TOTAL: Jan12 [STRIKE]£30,000[/STRIKE]/£13,300 Mar13[STRIKE]AMEX[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£2,500[/STRIKE] Bank [STRIKE]£12,000[/STRIKE]/£8,500 Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,000[/STRIKE]/£4,800 [STRIKE]Parents[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£8,500[/STRIKE]0
