would i be classed as single parent even though i live with parents?

Im currently 8 months pregnant and on maternity leave and work are paying my maternity pay, went onto HMRC calculator says im could be entitled too working tax credits and child tax credits but this was just based on my low income.

I was wondering when I call them up will they take into account my parents income even though they are both retired and on pension credits or will i be classed as a single parent?

You will be classed as a lone parent and get Child Benefit, Child Tax Credit and Income Support if not working, if working you will get Working Tax Credit instead of Income Support. Your parents are not expected to support you.
  • thank you, just wondered how it works out
