Headphones for use with a keyboard.

Can anyone recommend some headphones for use when playing keyboard?
I'm after something thats noise cancelling and at a reasonable price.

Never had any full ear headphones before so not sure what to look for.

Thanks in advance, mark.

Any pair of headphones will do. I prefer Sennheisers myself - but go with whatever you want. All you'll probably need is a jack adapter as pcombo says - but some headphones will come with this anyway (£30+ Sennheisers generally do).

You won't find noise cancelling headphones at a reasonable price. The best you'll get is noise isolating - as in, they'll block out most of the noise but there's no manipulation of the sound to cancel out background noise using external microphones etc.

Do you specifically need noise-cancelling headphones or ones that just isolate the ambient noise?

Are you practising in a noisy environment?

Can you not practise somewhere else?

    Thanks for the replies.
    Noise isolating one's would do.
Cant really practice anywhere else. Noise is not always an issue, but have to be quiet myself. Other times noise is an issue (4 kids make a surprising amount of noise!) so might as well get ones which can deal with that then i'll be prepared when needed.

Bose probably make the best noise-cancelling headphones however, they are very expensive.

In terms of noise isolating, have a look at Sennheiser (as mentioned by others), Beyerdynamic and AKG.

I just came across these Panasonic noise-cancelling ones in the Play.com sale:

    http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/20428258/Panasonic-RP-HC200E-K-Noise-Cancelling-Headphones-Black/Product.html

    Also available in white:

I would suggest having a look at them first before purchasing. The swivel for each earcup looks a little fragile. The reviewer on Play.com says that they are available at John Lewis so, you may want to see if you can try them out first.
